The new Kenworth T610 and T610SAR
It's here: the Kenworth T610 and T610SAR
After almost a decade of development, Kenworth unveiled its next generation heavy-duty truck, the revolutionary T610 model, on the 3rd December 2016 at a launch event at the Kenworth manufacturing plant in Bayswater, Victoria.
After more than 100,000 Australian design hours and more than ten million kilometres of testing and validation, the T610 and T610SAR represent everything a Kenworth should be in terms of durability, reliability and safety. To ensure the needs of the driver are met, noticeable improvements are the superior space, ergonomics and driver comfort and control. With a good driver environment, PACCAR's Brad Driver acknowledges that leads to "better all-round driving performance, safety, efficiency and productivity."
The DAF XF has been voted ‘Fleet Truck of the Year 2016’ at the prestigious ‘Motor Transport Awards’ in London, giving DAF its sixth win in the last nine years. DAF was handed the award at an official ceremony, which was attended by 1,600 leading representatives from the transport industry. [...]

Metro Vic Transport rolls out new quad-axle ATM float
Melbourne’s Metro Vic Transport has put into service a new custom-designed quad-axle low loader built by Australian Trailer Manufacturers (ATM).
According to Metro Vic Transport, the low loader will be used for moving earthmoving equipment, farming machinery, construction gear and trucks. But doing so requires the company to source trailers that can accommodate the variety of loads, while maintaining effectiveness over the long haul.
"In this new quad-axle low loader, we wanted more features on the trailer that would allow us to handle more weight, while preserving the quality of the unit," said Jason Howell, Operator at Metro Vic Transport.
The float includes a purpose-built 'flip-over' drive ramp, a 3.5 metre widening deck, heavy-duty airbag suspension and a winch built to the front of the trailer that’s capable of pulling up to 14 tonnes.
"ATM not only fitted four axles, but the first and third are lift-up axles and are also self-tracking," Howell said, noting that unit can handle up to 35 tonnes at once.

As well as looking the part, the T950 was designed to operate in almost any application from logging to livestock, whether pulling a single trailer or a triple road train. [...]
